Special Edition - New StreamGM Cultural Series

StreamGM is proud to announce our second streaming strand: Special Edition - dedicated to Greater Manchester culture and music.

Special Edition is an ad hoc series for StreamGM, shining a spotlight on amazing, one-off cultural events taking place across the region.

From festivals, events and special performances; Special Edition captures the beautiful diversity of Greater Manchester culture, telling the stories behind the events with interviews with organisers and talent.

The programme is curated to represent the very best cultural events taking place across the city region, beaming them into homes across the world, giving a global platform to our local, cultural communities.

The First Special Edition is presented by DJ Mix-Stress, and will premiere on Thursday August 25th at 18.00 on our website, featuring Black Gold Arts and their recent Whitworth Park Takeover.

Black Gold Arts is a Manchester-based arts organisation working predominantly with working-class people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community and their allies.

Since 2015, Black Gold Arts has established itself as a leading platform in the northwest for showcasing and commissioning new work by Black and global majority artists. Their work has received critical national acclaim and present work in all forms: dance, theatre, exhibitions, vogue balls and immersive film screenings.

Founder of Black Gold Arts, Darren Pritchard said: “StreamGM has given us a chance to share our creativity and work with a wider audience. Any positive exposure that organisations like ours helps not only us but all the artists involved. Being the first episode of Speical Edition is an absolute honour!”
