#SeeGM - Nightclubs
Since well before the days of The Hacienda, clubbing is a crucial, cultural activity for our musically significant region.
With the so many different kinds of clubs playing all genres of music from house and techno to indie, metal, pop, hip hop and R&B, you're never short of somewhere to lose your inhibitions, meet new and old friends and get lost in the moment!
In the next video in our #SeeGM campaign with The Manc - (to support the recent reopening of live-venues around the region) we discuss with renowned local operators and artists from Manchester's diverse scene why nightlife is such an important aspect of our local culture and heritage, what they missed about these venues during the restrictions, and what makes Manchester the best!
Renowned DJ Graeme Park said: "Playing live again after over a year of streaming and the occasional socially distanced gig with limited numbers has been so exciting!
“Live events are hugely important for the mental health of both performers and audiences alike, and connecting with people at varied and inclusive DJ gigs, live shows, performances and more is crucial to everyone's well being as well as to the local and national economies. I hope that the #SeeGM campaign inspires everyone to enjoy dancing together again.”
Simon Colderley from BEC said: “Our industry has been severely damaged by the pandemic, not only did it suffer financially but also mentally with a lot of people. Putting on events not only employs huge amounts of people but also gives joy and happiness to thousands of customers. Music is a way to escape, to get lost in the moment to forget the pressures of day to day life.
“Greater Manchester’s nightlife and events industry have some of the world’s best venues, promoters, creatives, artists and teams that are extremely driven by success, but more importantly these people have a real passion for what they do.”
