In Conversations & Masterclasses episode 3

In Conversations & Masterclasses (ICAM) third episode explores the art of songwriting and creativity in music.

The engaging session is hosted by electrofolk songwriter & producer HUSK.

HUSK

Daley

Joining HUSK on ICAM is Daley - a renowned Manchester based singer songwriter/creative artist who has worked with the likes of Stevie Wonder, Damon Albarn, Pharrell Williams and Jessie J.

Ellen Beth Abdi

Ellen Beth Abdi - an acclaimed musician and songwriter who uses live loops, pokey drums, undulating synths and quietly subversive lyrics to mould her unique sound.  Ellen has been a backing vocalist (& keys) for The Stone Roses at Wembley Stadium, New Order at MIF and A Certain Ratio.

FLISS

FLISS a singer/songwriter with a soft, hypnotic RnB sound. Her stunning music is heavily influenced by her struggles with anxiety and ADHD and she uses songwriting as an outlet for her busy mind, and the process allows her to dissect what she’s feeling.

The group share their wisdom and experiences discussing: how and why they started writing music and lyrics, their different sounds, musical, cultural, ethnic and geographical influences, driving forces, performance styles and how to make a name for yourself in the music industry.

They also offer valuable advice on how to combat pre gig nerves, ways and tips on writing a new song and (equally importantly!) how to know when a song is finished!

The third episode of In Conversations and Masterclasses was filmed in Cheetham Hills cultural epicentre The Yard, producer Rebecca Swarray, assistant producer Marie-Claire Daly and streamed for your inspiration via our StreamGM ICAM series page Spotify and YouTube channel from March 7th 7pm 2024.

Producer Rebecca Swarray with ICAM contributors: Ellen Beth, HUSK, Daley & FLISS
