GM Digital Pride - Read all about it!
“We want to make sure that our LGBTQ+ community can still engage with their respected communities in a meaningful way”
Greater Manchester’s local paper the Manchester Evening News has featured our LGBTQ+ digital ‘all-day online party’ .
Broadcasting live from Pop in Hyde from 12pm midday on September 25, #GMDigitalPride will feature ten hours of performances and short films celebrating the diversity of Greater Manchester’s LGBTQ+ community.
#GMDigitalPride will be beamed all over the world via our United We Stream global association, with sister streaming organisations in Tblisi, Milan, Balkans, Australia, Berlin, South America, Spain and Brighton simultaneously broadcasting the jam-packed live show.
The event, which is kindly supported by Bruntwood and Talk Talk, has been curated by Carl Austin Behan OBE and Barry Priest, with wonderful contributions by local Prides across Manchester including Bolton Pride, Bury Pride, Levenshulme Pride, Pride in Trafford and Wigan Pride, aiming to raise much needed funds for LGBT Foundation and George House Trust.
Carl Austin Behan, LGBTQ+ Advisor to Andy Burnham, said our digital Pride was a chance to celebrate Pride from the comfort of our homes.
He said : “Due to the uncertainty of live events being able to take place this year, the Greater Manchester Pride Network wanted to make sure that our LGBTQ+ community could still engage with their respected communities in a meaningful way.”
